Operating at 628 nm, MPB Communications’ VFL-P-628 it is ideal for exciting allophycocyanin, Cy5 and Alexa Fluor 647.  It permits better sensitivity at the emission end with a broader red detection filter, while losing almost no excitation efficiency. 

As a direct replacement for a red HeNe, it provides significantly more optical power.

The VFL-P-628 is easy to use, maintenance-free, highly reliable and air-cooled. It is available with up to 200 mW of output power, Higher power models up to 1 W are also available.
