Listen to Inspiring Session from MWOSA Breakfast at FiO

The Minorities & Women in OSA (MWOSA) Breakfast at the 2007 Frontiers in Optics (FiO) conference in San Jose, CA featured Kate Pickle, the Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Project Manager for the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA). Ms. Pickle provided an inspiring talk emphasizing the role optics professionals can have in encouraging girls to excel in science and math studies and highlighted the collaborative program between the OSA Foundation (OSAF) and GSUSA called Lighten Up! Discovering the Science of Light – an activity booklet introducing girls 11 through 15 to optics.
