CAPITOL HILL DAY 2007

Members will voice their opinions on issues
affecting our scientific community

Colleagues from OSA/LEOS/APS/OIDA will visit Capitol Hill on May 10, 2007.

OSA, along with LEOS, APS and OIDA, invited members to participate in Capitol Hill Day 2007– for an opportunity to make their voices heard on important public policy issues, and to help make elected officials aware of the importance of funding scientific R&D and math/science education.

Legislators need to hear from scientists, engineers and students.  This is your opportunity to visit directly with lawmakers in Washington. The more voices that convey the importance of scientific research, the stronger the impact.

Participants will join their colleagues for a short evening briefing and training session on May 9. Visits to Capitol Hill are on May 10. Transportation is provided from the Baltimore Convention Center to Washington, DC.

For more information about this event, please contact OSA’s Government Relations Team at public-policy@osa.org or visit the event page on osa.org.

Note: No prior experience with public policy or Capitol Hill visits is required. All participants will receive training, tips and background information prior to the event.

Held in conjunction with CLEO/QELS 2007.
