Lecture: The tide of information and the responsibility of youth

On invitation of OSA student chapter of Peking University , Mr. Yang Xueming held a lecture entitled "The tide of information and the responsibility of youth" on June 12 th at room 408 of School of Physics .

Mr. Yang, graduates of physics Department of Peking University, who is now the senior consultant of Ministry of Information Industry. He has abundant knowledge and experience on information field and is regard as an expert of CMOS chip.

Yang illustrated the historic status of information revolution and the development of information industry in the world. He said, followed by the agricultural revolution and industry revolution, information revolution would change the world profoundly. Mr. Yang drew the outline of the development of semiconductor integrate circuit industry and semiconductor LED industry in recent 20 years. He also compared the current situation in different countries in information technology, such as America , Japan and Korea . He introduced the strategy and the concretely plan to promote the level of China 's information industry in this century.

Mr. Yang had an informal discussion with all the students after the lecture. He enumerated the opportunities and challenges in information technology and expected the youth to contribute their brightness to this area.

Mrs. Dong Xiaohua, assistant secretary of School of Physics , attended the lecture. Li Quanshui, president of Peking student chapter of OSA, send a present to Mr. Yang at the name of PKUOSA chapter.

Outdoor in spring

In April 24th 21 students enjoy themselves in the Outdoor in spring hold by the Peking University Chapter of OSA. Some of them about ten students are the student members of OSA, and others are the freshman of School of Physics and one PhD candidates of chemistry whose major is close to Optics.

The DaGuanYuan Park was constructed followed by the description in the "Dream of Red Chamber", which is regard as the most important fiction in China . Chinese all learn about it and the fiction has a lot of fans. Because of its wonderful scenery, DaGuanYuan Park has been a famous place in Beijing , which attracts an uncountable number of tourists every year.

In that day we have a good time and make some new friends.
