News From OSA
Education and Training in Optics and Photonics (ETOP) is an international conference that is held biannually. Sponsored by OSA, SPIE, IEEE/LEOS and the ICO, ETOP brings together speakers from around the world to share their experiences and insights on teaching methods relevant to the dynamically changing field of optics and photonics. Innovative teaching strategies and curricula from primary, secondary, post-secondary and postgraduate levels are explored. Because of its importance to and impact on all sectors of modern society, participants from academic institutions, businesses, and government agencies are encouraged to participate. Special emphasis is placed on approaches to encourage the next-generation of technicians, engineers, and scientists.
ETOP’07 will take place June 3-5, 2007, in the Ottawa Convention Center, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The conference will be co-located with Photonics North. For more information, visit www.etoponline.org.
Papers highlighting innovative teaching methodologies and curricula from primary, secondary, post-secondary and post-graduate levels will be explored. Please submit your papers by January 31, 2007 to be considered for a presentation.
